Knebworth House

As part of Year 1’s science curriculum, they set off on an adventure to Knebworth House to explore their gardens.  The children used their senses to explore and investigate the different plants growing in the natural habitat.  They learnt about what plants needed to grow and enjoyed looking and learning about the kitchen garden at Knebworth House with the head gardener.  The children explored the herb garden and even made their own relaxing lavender bag using the dried lavender from the garden.   Visiting the dinosaurs was a favourite and we used our scientific skills to observe whether we could tell if they were herbivores or carnivores.  The children finished off the morning by planting their own sunflower seed which have been taken home to look after and care for. After a lovely walk down the grassy hill, the afternoon was spent having a picnic lunch and exploring the adventure playground and fort area.
