Rocks and Fossils workshop

On Tuesday 4^th February, Year 3 had a special visit from Dr Helen at Palaeoquest. The visit linked to our science learning this year. She began by telling us all about the different Rocks; igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic. She showed us some of the rocks from her impressive collection. After that, she explained what a fossil was and how they are formed.  She showed us one fossil that was over 500,000 years old!  After that, we completed different activities from fossil finding, rock identification, observational drawing if fossils and exploring how rocks are used in our every day life.
