Visit from Safari Stu Animal Party

Year 3 were fortunate to receive a visit from animal expert Safari Stu and his menagerie of wonderful and unusual animals.

In Year 3, we have been looking at human and animal bodies in terms of their skeletons and muscles. We looked at animals with different kinds of skeletons and were spotting the difference between endoskeletons (internal) and exoskeletons (external) and talking about some of their advantages and disadvantages. We studied a range of animals including giant hissing cockroaches, a giant katydid, a royal python, a tarantula, a lesser tenrec, a tortoise and a chameleon.

It was exciting to see, and have the opportunity to hold, so many unfamiliar animals up close.  The children thoroughly enjoyed their visit and asked some very pertinent questions about the animals.
