Some pupils from the school Gardening Club were invited by Mr Turvey, Head Gardener at Hatfield House, to help with planting one of the flower beds in the redeveloped gardens in the centre of Old Hatfield Village ahead of the grand opening on 12th June.
Mr Turvey explained the process of the garden development and why the flowers had been selected and showed us the oak leaf sculpture in the centre of the garden. Lady Salisbury also came to meet the pupils during the activity.
The pupils worked as a team to dig the holes and plant out the flowers .
Below are photos for before, during and after of the flower bed we worked on.
