VE Day at the Ryde School

VE Day stands for Victory in Europe

VE Day is an important and special day for the UK and Europe.  It is a chance for young and old people to learn about what life was like in WW2.  At The Ryde School we celebrated by wearing red, white and blue clothes.  We had an assembly led by our deputy head teacher, Mr Paice.  It was a fun and enjoyable assembly and everyone was very intrigued and interested.  At lunch time we were all surprised by the impeccable decorations and displays in the hall to look at while we ate and chatted away.  But there was more waiting for us in the afternoon.  In the afternoon we had an extra play and cakes and drinks in our year groups as we sang songs and had the time of our lives.  At the end of the day we were all exhausted and thankful for an amazing day.
