On Thursday 19th October 2023, a team of girls from Years 5 and 6 braved the very unsettled weather and went to DeHavilland School to take part in the annual tournament. We had been expecting a cancellation all morning but the rain held off long enough for things to get going.
Nine teams took part, divided into two smaller leagues, meaning that we played DeHavilland, Hatfield Free School and Oak View. All the teams were very evenly matched with only the best two from each league going on to the semis. Even though the girls won one match and drew three, they had not scored enough goals to get them through, very disappointing for all.
The girls settled in to the positions they were asked to play and listened well to advice and instructions. They played really well and deserved their successes.
They all enjoyed themselves and I would like to give a special thank you to all the parents who turned out in support. Well played, girls.
